Itinerary – 2 Day Tour Victoria

Day 1

This is it – the ultimate discovery of Victoria’s most spectacular coastlines. From the breathtaking world famous Great Ocean Road in the state’s west, to the penguin parade on Phillip Island in the east and the playground for the rich and famous on the magnificent Mornington Peninsula in the middle, we will take you on a truly unforgettable journey with a difference  – transportation for this trip is by road AND by sea!

You will be collected by your guide at your inner-city hotel and commence the drive towards one of the most famous coastal roads in the world, the spectacular Great Ocean Road. The road was built to provide access to the coastal communities and to provide employment to the return soldiers from the Great War.  We discover the famous road from West to East, starting at the truly magnificent Twelve Apostles, one of the most iconic natural formations in the world; as well as infamous Loch Ard Gorge and continue on along the wild and unpredictable Shipwreck Coast.

Head off the beaten track through the Otway Forest to the Great Ocean Road Ecolodge. Here you will have unique access to an ancient Eucalyptus Forest walk for close encounters with native animals. As a passenger with us, you will be contributing to the Great Ocean Ecolodge’s conservation program to protect the local fauna and flora of the region.

We will continue our journey through the tranquil seaside towns of Apollo Bay and Lorne before arriving in Anglesea in the early evening. Here you will have some free time before retiring for a well-deserved rest.

Day 2

Next morning cross the Bay by ferry to the Mornington Peninsula. You may even see dolphins escorting the ferry, as it makes its way across the mouth of Port Phillip Bay.

On arrival we check out the seaside township of Sorrento and spectacular Cape Shank, the southernmost tip of the Mornington Peninsula which separates the wild ocean waters of Bass Strait from the slightly calmer waters of Western Port. Afterwards we make our way to magnificent Point Leo Estate, which hosts spectacular views over Western Port Bay and Phillip Island and is home to the famous Sculpture Park- an outdoor art gallery featuring over 50 Australian and International pieces.  Here you can either chose to visit the Sculpture Park or enjoy a wine tasting session (included).

Afterwards we visit one of the local wineries where you are treated to a delicious 2 course lunch.

From here travel to the northern tip of the Peninsula and visit the multi award winning Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you will learn about Australia’s unique wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, dingos, koalas and many more. The sanctuary prides itself in its conservation work with endangered species.

Continue to world famous Phillip Island. We head across the Island to Point Grant and the Nobbies. Absorb the breathtaking coastal views and stroll along the boardwalk, before driving the short distance to the newly renovated Penguin Parade Visitor Centre and witnessing the magical arrival of the little penguins at dusk at Summerland Beach.

Later evening return to your hotel in Melbourne, full of unforgettable memories.
